Bought it on the first day. What struck me first was that his singing voice was in fantastic shape. "Jokerman" and "Don't Fall Apart on Me Tonight" feature some of his most melodic, tuneful singing ever on record. Twenty-five years down the road, it still sounds pretty good, although one can't help but imagine the great album it could have been had he included "Willie McTell," "Someone's Got a Hold of My Heart" and either "Foot of Pride" or "Lord Protect My Child" instead of "Union Sundown" (this song has not aged well) and possibly "I and I." It would be a sporting idea of the folks at the record company if they would include these "extra" songs on the CD release of "Infidels," as bonus tracks. For whatever reason, they have not done so.
