RJ's NFL Picks - Week Twelve
Published November 20, 2008
I went 8-8 last week. That puts me at 100-60 for the season. For a comparison, check out the "experts" over at ESPN.
Here are my picks for the NFL's Week 12:
*THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20*
Cincinnati 1-8-1 at Pittsburgh 7-3 - 8:15 PM (Line: Steelers by 10.5)
This should be a low-scoring game.
RJ's Pick: Pittsburgh by 5
*SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23*
Tampa Bay 7-3 at Detroit 0-10 - 1:00 PM (Line: Buccaneers by 8.5)
The Lions haven't won a game since December 23rd of last year.
RJ's Pick: Tampa Bay by 14
New York Jets 7-3 at Tennessee 10-0 - 1:00 PM (Line: Titans by 5)
The AFC's top-scoring offense (289 points scored for the Jets) versus the NFL's stingiest defense (131 points allowed by the Titans).
RJ's Pick: Tennessee by 9
Buffalo 5-5 at Kansas City 1-9 - 1:00 PM (Line: Bills by 3)
The Chiefs have dropped six straight, worst in the AFC. And Buffalo has lost four straight. One of those streaks shall end here.
RJ's Pick: Buffalo by 7
Chicago 5-5 at Saint Louis 2-8 - 1:00 PM (Line: Bears by 8.5)
The Rams have given up a league-worst 317 points through ten games, for an average of 31.7 points per game. (Do the math!)
RJ's Pick: Chicago by 2
New England 6-4 at Miami 6-4 - 1:00 PM (Line: Dolphins by 2)
The Dolphins have won four straight. I don't think Ronnie Brown will rush for four touchdowns in this one.
RJ's Pick: New England by 4
Minnesota 5-5 at Jacksonville 4-6 - 1:00 PM (Line: Jaguars by 2.5)
Jack Del Rio is going through his change of life. (By that I mean he's been moody, not that he's experiencing vaginal dryness or loss of breast fullness.)
RJ's Pick: Jacksonville by 7
Philadelphia 5-4-1 at Baltimore 6-4 - 1:00 PM (Line: Ravens by 1.5)
These are two above-average teams that will both probably be watching the playoffs at home.
RJ's Pick: Philadelphia by 3
RJ's Lame-Game Of The Week: Houston 3-7 at Cleveland 4-6 - 1:00 PM (Line: Browns by 3)
Cleveland is 1-4 at home. The Texans are 0-5 on the road.
RJ's Pick: Cleveland by 6
San Francisco 3-7 at Dallas 6-4 - 1:00 PM (Line: Cowboys by 10)
This one should be a slaughter.
RJ's Pick: Dallas by 24
Oakland 2-8 at Denver 6-4 - 4:05 PM (Line: Broncos by 9.5)
The Broncos are starting to pull away a little in the AFC Worst West.

I'll have to disagree with the G men vs the Cards as the game of the week. I'm predicting a brutal defeat for the Cards. My pick would be the Jets vs the Titans, but we'll see.

I agree with RJ the Giants / Arizona game is the game of the week. I also think it is going to come down to which Quarterback makes the fewest mistakes.
Good luck to all.
