One of the better film's of Jackie Chan's long career.
Supercop is a high energy, action-filled stunt fest from the prime of Jackie Chan’s career. It’s how he made a name for himself, and while it may not be on a par with his best work, it’s certainly a wild ride. Chan and co-star Michelle Yeoh are undercover cops infiltrating a drug kingpin's operation. The story proves enjoyable...
Mannix is here! And Adam Becvar (aka Luigi Bastardo) jumps out of a big speeding car in his honor!
Every once in a while, I forget things. Other times, things just sort of slip past me. Take the arrival of Mannix: The First Season on DVD for instance. It came, I saw, I forgot. I didn’t want to forget it… as a matter of fact, I was very excited to see it released on DVD (as a complete season, too -- as opposed to another Vol....
Battlestar Galactica - Season 4.0 is the first half of the popular sci-fi channels hit series final season.
Sci-Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica has become a phenomenon. It's a re-imagining of the 1970’s science-fiction series of the same name, and this new version is enjoying a far greater success than its predecessor. While the original series only lasted one season, Sci-Fi will premiere the second half of the show’s fourth and...
His playful obsessions linger on, such as huge camera gestures, melodrama, loving homage to Hollywood movies, and lots of music.
Australia is not a great romantic epic, but it is a good popcorn romantic epic. It isn’t a big, serious attempt to make us laugh and cry while changing the world – and sweeping the Oscars. It is a light and frivolous and silly big movie that does make us laugh and cry and then sends us out to face the world it has helped us forget...
This must be what it is like to make comic panels move.
Here is a movie that I so very badly wanted to love. I love what Robert Rodriguez did with Sin City, not to mention what Zack Snyder did with 300. I felt fairly certain that Frank Miller could get something into similar territory when he stepped behind the camera for the first time by himself. No, I was not expecting The Spirit to be as good as Sin...
Timur Bekmambetov’s Wanted is simply stunning. And it has to be, because if the viewers aren’t stunned by the frenetically paced action and loud soundtrack, they will see how utterly stupid the story is. Loosely based on the Top Cow comic book series written by Mark Millar and drawn by J. G. Jones, which had a terrific story that the...
I remember when James Bond movies were fun. I’d have a regular date with my sister to get our latest fix of campy humor and cool gadgets and gorgeous women with humorously suggestive names.
Maybe a time machine could be invented to send this movie back to 100 Million B.C.?
Ah yes, a movie by The Asylum. They tend to be cheap as hell, loaded with dollar store quality special effects, and have a nonsensical plot even the writer couldn't understand… all those traits and more are present in 100 Million B.C. Roger Corman wishes he could have made a movie this terrible back in the ‘50s. The basics: the...
